Albi Cote Primers
Albi Cote 487S is a solvent-based rust inhibitive, phenolic modified alkyd primer, designed as a shop coat or field primer for structural steel and other metal substrates. It has been specifically formulated for compatibility with Albi Intumescent Fireproofing materials, strong solvent based paints and mastics, which may lift or blister other primer coatings.
Recommended Uses
487S is recommended for use whenever a top quality metal primer is required. Primary applications are for installations to be fireproofed with solvent based fireproofing coatings or mastic systems such as Albi Clad 800 when such fireproofing will be exposed to weathering, humid or corrosive environments.

Albi 490W is a water-based rust inhibitive, acrylic primer, designed as a shop coat or field primer for structural steel and other metal substrates. It has been specifically formulated for compatibility with Albi Intumescent Fireproofing materials, strong solvent base paints and mastics, where a water-based primer is preferred or required.
Recommended Uses
490W is recommended for use whenever a top quality metal primer is required. Primary applications are for installations to be fireproofed with either water based or solvent based fireproofing coatings such as Albi Clad TF or Albi Clad 800.
