WIPING WOOD STAIN
A very unique pigmented stain that is semi-transparent, color fast, non-graining raising and odorless. It is quick drying and offers very good transparency and color definition. VOC compliant in all states including California. Apply by spray, brush or wipe on. Dries in 15 minutes. Seal or topcoat in one hour by spray; overnight if brushing, rolling or wiping a finish on. When used over dye stains, as for example our Penetrating Stain (further below), the combination produces a unique, three dimensional, beautifully enhanced grain pattern. Excellent for use on wood furniture and flooring.
Easy to control with no lapping or blotching. Colors can be intermixed to create custom colors. Nearly any type of finish can be applied over this stain: lacquer, varnish, polyurethane, acrylic, shellac, tung oil, or water-based. Though not recommended, this stain can be thinned down up for color intensity with the Wiping Stain Reducer given below, up to 25% by volume.
